Each year businesses must report the value of tangible personal property used in the
production of income to their respective county appraisal districts. The filing of
the property tax rendition form 50-144 is due by April 15th.
By law the property owner may request in writing an automatic extension to May 15th.
The chief appraiser may extend the deadline an additional 15 days if the property
owner can demonstrate good cause. Failure to timely file your rendition statement
could result in a penalty equal to 10 percent of the total amount of taxes imposed
on the property for that year.
